The Lord has challenged my heart with His
desire for us, as parents, to teach Scripture to our children
daily - to teach them as we go about our day. As I began to
think about how I could do this, the idea came to me to put
together short books with passages of Scripture I wanted to
read to my children over and over, along with some pictures to
interest my children as I read.
The "Scripture Read-Aloud for Children"
books are the result. With passages directly
from the KJV Bible and pictures to go along with the reading,
these books are a wonderful way to write important passages of
Scripture onto the hearts of your children! These little books
would also work as readers for your beginning
reader!
Along with these little books, I decided to
create Copy
Work Books to go along with each one! These Copy
Work Books will include the Scripture and graphics in each of
the "Scripture Read-Aloud for Children" books, as well as blank
lined spaces to give your children plenty of room to copy the
Scripture passages. The Copy Work Books will work nice for your
children who are just learning to write! What better way to
learn to write than to write God's Word!
"And thou shalt teach them diligently unto
thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine
house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest
down, and when thou risest up." Deuteronomy

Read-Aloud Book Printing
Instructions:
I decided to keep this book series
as eBooks
only so that parents would be able to
print new books out as they needed them. I intend on
these books being "used" by children...looked at, carried
around, and read over and over. Having the eBook provides
you the option to print a new book when the old one gets
too worn out. Enjoy!
-
I
would recommend using light colored or white
card-stock paper to print these booklets
on.
-
Cut
the card-stock paper in half using a
paper-cutter so that you have pages that are 5
1/2 inches wide and 8 1/2 inches tall. You
will need 7 pages cut in half - making 14
pages.
-
Print the pages front and
back in order until all pages are printed -
1-2, 3-4, 5-6, etc. (When the booklet is put
together, you will have the verse on the left
side and the picture that goes with it on the
right.) One
hint:
I found that if I printed the picture sides
first (even page numbers), and the verse sides
last (odd pages) the printing was clearer.
When you print the picture sides the pages
tend to curl a little because of all the ink
on the pages. Printing the picture sides last
helps the printing on the verse pages to be
cleared and not rub when run through the
printer. Make sense?
-
To
bind, I took my booklet to a local printer and
they put a wire bind on it for $.50! You can
be creative and try other options if you wish,
but the wire bind turned out nice
though!
