I recently purchased Kerry Beck's ebook/audio package, Raising Leaders, Not Followers. It amazes me how the Lord uses many different resources to help and encourage me in this journey of homeschooling! I enjoyed reading through Kerry's ebooks and listening to the audios that came with this package. At the heart of Kerry's message is to train leaders who can reign for Christ on this earth...training our children to think so that they can face life with a Biblical worldview...and using classics to help our children think. Although I know that I won't be implementing every single thing that Kerry shares, there were many things that spoke to me and gave me some new things to think about regarding the teaching and training of our children. I don't know about you, but I tend to want to answer my own questions, finish other people's sentences, etc...and I'm finding I do this with my kids. I am NOT teaching them how to think for themselves. This package comes with several ebooks, book lists, sample schedules, and a couple audios and transcripts.

I recently purchased Alphabet Tales from Child 1st Publications and it is absolutely WONDERFUL! My preschool son just LOVES the stories and it is a very informal, fun way for him to learn his letters and sounds. Child 1st also has some wonderful materials for teaching reading...and they even have a few books on teaching math that look really good. Go to their website to take a look!
